Our focus is on keeping this ancient craft alive using traditional tools, local stone and regional styles.

Working without the restraints of a fixed location means being able to work wherever the walls are, whether in rural, urban or remote areas.

The technique of dry stone walling is thousands of years old and can be found throughout the modern world in its many forms. The walls themselves have many uses, keeping livestock in or predators out, to mark boundaries and more recently for their aesthetic value, whilst also providing excellent habitat for numerous animals such as birds, lizards, small mammals and huge varieties of insects. With the numbers of skilled people dwindling in many traditional crafts, it is important to try to keep these skills and techniques going as they are a part of our heritage and hopefully a part of our future too.
